The key is publishing content on a highly trafficed professional networking site that has a lot of constantly changing blog content. Why? Because Google loves these sites. Content on sites like this consistently rank higher than other content in Google.

More importantly, links to other sites are also indexed by Google, and as a result of being found on a highly trafficed professional networking site that has a lot of constantly changing blog content, the content behind those links are also driven higher in ranking.

After only 3 months of effort in a highly competitive space, Nazir goes on to explain that 80% of his traffic is free and his home page has a Google ranking of 4.

2. Length of title tag

3. Use keyword phrases

Don't use single keywords. These are far too competitive to attain high rankings. Instead use 2-4 words that include your targeted keyword phrase.

4. Word order

Place your most targeted keyword at the beginning followed by your second most targeted keyword. This not only helps your ranking in the search engines but is displayed at the top of your visitors browser when they visit your web site.

5. Don't repeat keywords

Don't use the same keyword more than once. This may be considered spam by the search engines and you may see a drop in your rankings.

6. Don't place your company name at the beginning

When surfing the web you'll notice many sites place their company name or web site address at the beginning of the title tag. You'll probably rank No 1 for that term however it does not help your rankings. Place your best keywords or keyword phrases at the beginning followed by your company name. ie

dog grooming and training - Dog Care Inc.

7. Use a divider

Use spaces, dashes (-) or bars (|) to separate your keyword phrase from your company name. This will help you rank your page for both phrases.

8. Repeat the keywords in your headline and content

The header tag (h1) is often used for the first headline on your web page. Include the same keywords in the headline as your title tag. Your content should reflect the keywords you chose for your title tag. Be sure to sprinkle them throughout your web copy. This tells the search engines the theme of your site and rank it accordingly.

9. Don't use the same title tags for all web pages

Create unique title tags for each web page by using different keywords for each title tag. Then use these keywords in the content on your web page.

10. Write for your visitors

Keep your web site visitors in mind when writing. Create attractive and descriptive titles. Your description tag and web copy should expand on the contents of your title tag.

You might want to ask yourself if the primary target for your site care about content or a few bells and whistles. If the add-ons dont contribute to the effectiveness of your website in reaching customers it may also be a strategy that is just not useful.

If you take a look at any popular ezine and so a search on the terms Internet Marketing youll most likely pull up a huge list of articles. Scroll down through that list and take a look at the titles. You might notice something that sticks out like a sore thumb. There are literally hundreds of articles all about the exact same thing. So in this cheeky expos, lets write about what everyone else has written about!

Just about every topic concerned with internet marketing has been literally articled to death. How many times can people write about The Top Ten Ways to Make Money or How to Drive Traffic to Your Website or The Top Ten Ways to Make Money by Driving Traffic You get the idea.

There are probably a couple of dozen or so original articles that cover just about everything anyone will ever need to know about succeeding in the cut-throat and highly competitive world of internet marketing. The thousands of others are merely re-written and re-hashed clones of the originals.

This is detrimental and confusing to the reader. They are inundated with different takes on the same internet marketing article and end up reading the same information many times over. This can be off-putting especially to newcomers to the field. When they are searching for genuine information to help them start their own online business in internet marketing, they want that information in small digestible chunks. When faced with a deluge of similar articles all telling them the same thing, they could become overwhelmed by so much duplication.

Of course from the point of view of someone involved in internet marketing, as verbose as this practice may be, it is a necessary task to bear in order to secure precious one-way back-links to their websites to satisfy the page ranking criteria of the search engines.

From a writers point of view, this is a frustrating chore. It is becoming increasingly difficult to write a decent, informative and interesting piece on a topic that has already been done to death by a thousand other writers in their attempts to clamber up the search engine ladders. But try we must or our internet marketing competitors will steal that march on us and procure a more prominent perch in the search engine pages.

Its a great shame that the search engines, in their relentless quest to force website owners to provide good, quality content are actually creating the opposite effect by imposing a rule that says any website with more back-links must be better and more popular. In fact, more often than not the best written and potentially more popular websites languish in the nether regions on the lower pages. This is simply because they probably refused to obtain, by regurgitating the same old tired articles, those irritatingly difficult to procure one-way back-links!

So it appears that although every aspect of internet marketing has been written about ad infinitum, that particular dead horse will, by necessity continue to be flogged for some time to come.

There are many ways how to improve link popularity. If you are webmaster who is hungry for better ranking in search engines, this article was written for you. There are hundreds of factors which determine your search engine position. Except on-page factors there are off-page factors too. And these factors seem to be most important for big search engines like Google, Yahoo! and MSN.

When I speak about off-page factors I mean not only the number of the links pointing to your website. If you want to achieve top positions in search engines you must care about relevance of your back links. Let's say you are a web designer. In your case the most valuable links are from another web designers websites. Very valuable will be links from related industries like web hosting, search engine optimization (seo) or webmaster tools. By contrast, link from site like online casino will have minimal value for you. From this reason exchange links with relevant websites only. Internet is full of sites related to yours so why waste your time with gaining worthless back links?

When webmasters exchange links, a lot of them care too much about pagerank of partner's website. Yes, you are right -- link from PR8 site is better then link from PR0. But keep in mind that those new sites with PR0 will grow with time and their PR will grow too. It can easily happen that you exchange a link with PR0 website today and after 6 months this site gain PR5+. And now let's answer this important question: What is easier -- get link on PR0 website which will grow or on PR5+ site? From my point of view each link has big value as long as it is from relevant website.

Let's look at another factors used by search engines to determine the value of back links. You have probably heard terms "one-way" and "reciprocal" links. One-way links are links where webmaster of site A links to site B but webmaster of site B doesn't link back to site A. Reciprocal links are links where webmaster A links to site B and webmaster B links back to site A. There are two important facts:

1. One-way links have a little higher value for search engines. Search engines suppose that one-way links are most likely natural and predicate the quality of the linked website.

2. Reciprocal links have a little lower value from the reason mentioned above. But it is easier to get reciprocal link then one-way link (In case that your site is quality, of course. For poor websites it is always difficult to gain back links). Anyway relevant reciprocal link is always better then one-way link from unrelated website.

The last factor I will describe in this article is the age of the domain. If you get link from the 5 years old domain the link will have higher value then link from the new site. Many spammers register domains for one year, use them as link farms and when they are banned by search engines (it takes probably less then one year) then they don't renew this domain and register a new one. On the other side, if the site is a few years old and had never used any unfair SEO tactics, search engines give this site higher importance.

So if you are trying to improve link popularity of your website, don't forget that it is not only about pagerank. You need links from quality websites. Making your website the best in your field is the right way how to get these valuable links.

We all know how Google Page Rank works to send traffic to our websites: the more relevant websites that link to yours, the higher your Page Rank and search engine position will be. The higher the Page Rank of websites that link to you, the higher your Page Rank will be again.

So can you imagine how useful it would be if there were relevant websites that would link to yours for free? Your search engine position would sky rocket, right?

The fact is that website-directories do exactly this... IF you use them correctly. The latter part of that sentence is the key part. This article aims to show you how.

Many people spend hours at a time submitting their website to directories and their websites position barely changes. On the other hand, some people don't spend as long and yet see tremendous growth in their traffic and profits.

The answer to the question "How do I use directories effectively?" lies in what particular directories you are submitting yourself to. If you want the results you need to choose the right ones, it's that simple.

Ideally you want a directory that offers "static text links". A banner does not have the same effect on search engine rankings and neither does a text link that is there for a while and then goes. Only certain directories offer this.

Also, when Google looks at the websites that link to you to determine their worth it looks at when the domain name was registered. It looks for how old they are. Websites and directories older than three years will improve your Google rank far more than younger ones hosted on free domain names. It is quite hard for the average person to find out the age of the directory that you re posting to though, right? Don't worry; your solution is at the end of this article.

Another point to make is relevancy. Some people spend far too much time submitting their website to directories that link to anyone's link or to totally irrelevant directories. Google judges the quality of the link that links to you by how relevant it is to your website.
