Why Organic SEO is Better Than PPC

Despite the fact that both organic SEO and PPC are part of the same system - Search Engine Marketing, there are a few very basic yet essential factors that distinguish organic SEO from PPC and make it much better than the latter. Some of the benefits organic SEO has over PPC are as follows:

It provides long term solutions:

Organic search results might be slow in listing the websites, but its listing is a much more stable and long term process. The search listing which appears through organic search is a more permanent one than PPC which generally runs for a specified time span after which it dissolves and disappears.

The click through rates is higher:

Research proves that the end users too have a tendency of clicking on the organic results more than the paid listings that appear on the search engine result pages. This makes the click through results of organic SEO almost 70% higher than those of the paid search results.

Quality Traffic:

Since the organic SEO are mostly dependent on keywords, that are selected after a proper research and survey on user tendency and demographics is conducted, it suggests that the traffic too will be saturated and of good quality too. The search engine techniques is entirely based on keywords, the end users type in a keyword relevant o their search and the search engines display results that match with their requirement. This makes is evident that the users will only type what they are looking for, and will land into your page only if it is relevant to their search. Therefore, the possibility of having low quality traffic is comparatively low here.

Many more avenues:

Unlike PPC campaigns that only depend on keyword bidding, the organic SEO also involves a number of other techniques of attracting traffic as well. this makes it double effective than the PPC. The natural or organic search also includes content writing, link building or link exchange and other on page and off page promotions to help enhance the traffic flow to a website.

Low Cost Marketing:

The last and the most important difference between organic search and PPC is that the former is a no cost search promotion technique. Organic SEO does not require you to spend any many on marketing, unlike PPC where, one has to keep paying the search engines every time a click is generated.

Top 3 Article Promotion Tips

Quality articles that are written and targeted for a niche market are in serious demand. Content is king on the internet as publishers seek valuable content to add to their web sites so that they offer their visitors value. By providing valuable content you will be able to draw visitors to your web site and gain leads that will convert up to ten times better than leads from other sources. You also get this free traffic without spending a dime on advertising. Below I list three valuable techniques that you can use to promote your articles.

Article Promotion Tip 1
Submit to high quality article directories and announcement lists. By doing this your articles will be spidered by the search engines and show up for keywords that you target. Publishers will also pick up your articles and publish them to their web sites improving your link popularity and consequently your search engine traffic. Make sure that you anchor your target keywords in your bio to improve your search engine rankings for those specific keywords.

Article Promotion Tip 2
Use syndication to distribute your articles. Once a web site publisher decides to accept your content it will be automatically published to their web site once you syndicate it. This makes the article distribution process effortless. However, the big disadvantage of this method is that it can become complicated to setup.

Article Promotion Tip 3
Distribute your articles using RSS. RSS stands for Real Simple Syndication. You need to register your RSS file with news aggregator sites that are interested in accepting your feed.

Using these three methods of article promotion you can gain free targeted traffic for your internet business.

Looking For A Good Internet Marketing Resource Tip

A good internet marketing resource tip? Yeah, I think I've got one I can let you in on.

Here's one that I highly recommend: instead of hiding behind many of the typical internet marketing curtains, make your presence felt. Put a 'voice' to the name. Your name.

We all know that there is a general fear among us towards people we don't know or trust YET. So put yourself out there and let people see that you're a real person.

How do you do this best? How about setting up a simple question and answer section on your site. A place where people can actually bend your ear and ask their questions. There's a few good reasons to do this. One, you show that you are indeed a real person who wants to help others. And two...YOU GET FREE CONTENT FOR YOUR SITE.

That's right, by simply allowing visitors, you can create a never ending source of free content. All you have to do is take the questions and answers and publish them. Can you say blog? I know that you can.

And guess what the search engines love? Blogs. Yes sir, they still do. Engines love blogs because blogs ARE fresh content...and the engines never get enough fresh content. Ever.

It's interesting how many things you can accomplish by opening up a Q & A section on your site. Someone will invariably ask a question that will start new ways for even you to approach your own business.

It's great. I was first exposed to this internet marketing resource tip by someone who owns and operates a COMPETING website. Like I always say, copy success!

The best internet marketing tip you'll ever use involves article marketing. Read that, then read Kevin Browne's HIGHEST RATED opportunity reviews at his new site http://www.become-a-copywriter.com/earnmoneywriting.html

Advanced SEO - The Characteristics Of A Perfect Incoming Link

What is a quality incoming link? This article describes the key characteristics of a perfect link. For explanation purposes, the sample company is a shoe retailer called Fred's Sports, and the keyword phrase being optimized for is "blue Nike sneakers".

Key word phrase in anchor text
Unless you put your keyword phrase in the anchor text (the text that describes the web site being linked to), you are wasting a lot of link power. Unfortunately a lot of people don't know this an end up putting their company name in the link text rather than the keyword phrase that they want their company to be found by. Much better that they link anchor says "blue Nike sneakers" than "Fred's Sports Store".

The link is from a relevant page
Google and the Google-powered search partners seek relevance in the interconnectedness of web pages. Incoming links should be from pages where the content on that page is related to the content of the page that is being linked to. A fishing related page linking to a casino site is an example of a non-related link. A jogging related page linking to a blue Nike sneakers product page is related and is looked upon favourably by the search engines.

The link goes to a relevant page
Another mistake that people make is always linking to the home page rather than to the most relevant page to the anchor text. If the link anchor text is "blue Nike sneakers" then the link should go to a page about blue Nike sneakers, not the home page. This is by far and away the most common linking mistake.

The link is from an authority site
Links from high Google PageRank sites are worth more, a lot more, than links from other sites. It's all about trust. A link from a trusted site tells the search engines that the sites linked to are also trusted - it's a vote of confidence from a credible source. Links from .gov, and .edu sites are also reported as having more weight than standard links. They are also more difficult to get adding to their perceived quality.

The link is at top of the page
Links from the top of a page (except for the header), are said to have more weight than links at the bottom of pages. It's the same with keyword phrases. A keyword phrase in the heading is worth more than in the body text.

The link is one-way, not reciprocal
Google's algorithm looks for link exchanges between sites and rates these links lower than straight one-way links. If possible, look for one way links by creating link bait - compelling content that will encourage people to link to your pages.

The link is within the body copy - not an advertising zone
Linking should be a natural part of the body copy. Recent reports suggest that the search engines will derate links from parts of the page that are traditionally sold for advertising. these tend to be the margins, header and footer areas of the page.

The link does not have a nofollow tag
The nofollow tag is a recent innovation that tells the search engines that although I am linking to this other page, I do not vouch for the page's integrity. In short, the nofollow tag tells the search engines to ignore the link. Obviously you do not want links to your web pages to have nofollow tags. Be careful with link exchanges. Some dishonest people will exchange links with you but use nofollow tags in the links to your pages to preserve their own link power.

There are few links on page (less than 20)
One link to your web site from a page with hundreds of links does little for your SEO results. The page's SEO power is being distributed over all the other links on the page. Goo;le's guidelines recommend no more than 100 links per page, but I believe 20 is a reasonable goal. You never know when the Google algorithm may change. The perfect page that links to your pages should have no more than 20 links.

Fast Article Marketing - Discover 6 Practical Ways to Increase Your Article Marketing

If you have recently discovered the power of article marketing, I wouldn't be surprised to know that you are now thinking of increasing the number of your articles so you can better augment your website traffic. As you know, the success of your campaign depends not only on the quality of your articles but also on the quantity.

1. Develop a strategic plan on writing and submitting your articles. Set your daily working schedule to determine the number of articles you will write everyday. Also, allot at least 1 day for your article submission.

2. Motivate yourself to do more. Never get satisfied with the number of articles you write everyday. Try to write an additional 2-3 articles so you can create extra 14-21 articles per week. That would definitely create a big difference in your campaign.

3. Do not procrastinate. If you want to be more productive, you have to eliminate procrastination on your system. This will greatly pull down the number of your articles and may cut your online traffic in half.

4. Stay away from distractions. Loud music, phone ringing, friends chatting, or even your bed can distract you from writing and this can extremely slow down the process. To prevent this from happening, I suggest that you work in a place where you can be alone and comfortable so you can be more productive.

5. Focus. Clear your mind and don't let your pressing issues distract you. Avoid the temptation of surfing the net or chatting with friends while writing your articles. The more focus you are, the more articles you can write.

6. Know your limits. Do not work too hard. If you are too exhausted to write additional articles, stop! This could affect the quality of your work and may hurt your credibility online.

Article Marketing - Steps to Ultimate Article Marketing Success

Article marketing is of course the process of writing informative articles about your niche topic, adding a link to your web site or squeeze page to the article, and submitting the articles to the various online article directories.

One of the most important things to realize is that you should choose a method of article submission are you attempting to create immediate direct traffic by writing a lot of articles and submitting them to the highest-traffic article directories, or are you more interested in writing a small number of articles and submitting them to a large number of article directories, for the purpose of creating massive numbers of backlinks and subsequently search engine traffic to your web site.

So what are your steps to success with article marketing?

1) You must be able to set goals and then follow them through, regardless of whether or not you feel like it. You see, if you want to write 200 articles this month, but do not set a schedule, or require yourself to write when you do not feel well, you will not get to 200 articles this month. If you agree with yourself that you are going to write 10 articles per day, 20 days a month, you have to follow through on that. I find that as simple as this is, it is the number one limiting activity that people do to fail at article marketing.

2) You must learn to write articles quickly. Follow this format: type up 10 article titles before you begin, then under each article title, type in 3 supporting points for each title. Next, all you have to do is teach of explain each of the supporting points, then add an introduction to each one, and presto! you have a set of ten articles.

Productive Article Marketing - Latest 3 Comprehensive Methods to Advance With Article Marketing

Article marketing is one of the most powerful website marketing strategies in the internet today. As search engines remain to the be best source of warm and targeted traffic, more and more webmasters are using article marketing so they can fare well on major search engines.

Here are the 3 comprehensive methods to advance with article marketing:

1. Write for your readers. Article marketing can bring you numerous benefits. It can improve your page ranking, increase the number of targeted visitors to your site, and it can help you communicate your expertise to your potential readers. However, before you can achieve all of that, you must know how to attract and please your target market first. You can easily do so by writing content that is targeted to their needs and demands. That is why, it is very crucial for you to get to know your readers first even before you start writing your articles so you can effectively adjust your writing style and language on the level that they are most comfortable with.

2. Widely distribute your articles. It is not enough that you submit your articles to major submission sites. To get maximum exposure, you must consistently find avenues where you can post your content. Some marketers are submitting their articles to websites that are syndicated by Google and Yahoo News. While others are posting their writing materials to various sites like wikis, forums, blogs, and on their own websites.

3. Bank on the quality of your content. It article marketing, it is useless to write numerous low quality articles. Why? Because these articles are unlikely to get distributed or republished by other marketers. Thus, they will not be able to help you augment your traffic and your page ranking. So, instead of focusing on the number of your articles, concentrate on your content. It is better to have few articles that are worth distributing that more articles that will just sit on publishing sites and will not have the chance to go further.

6 Key Ways to Advance in Article Marketing

Productive article marketing is more than just writing articles and posting them in as many places as possible to increase exposure for your business. Its a strategy, and here are six key ways to make it work for you.

Key 1: Be Clear and Be Popular
When you write your article, appeal to as many people as possible. Dont use esoteric words, a lot of acronyms, or other things the average person wont understand. If you are writing for a specific audience you may be able to use a little more than normal, but simple is still best.

Key 2: Use Keywords and Keyword Phrases
Use the search terms someone would enter in search engines to look for that specific article. If its an article on red garden hoses, use that as your search term. If its more general, like hospitals, choose a combination like quality hospitals or orthopedic hospitals if you can be specific.

Key 3: Dont Give it All Away At Once
Hold back some information so you can do an article series. This creates some anticipation and people will look forward to your next one.

Key 4: Market the Articles
Rather than post them on content websites, offer them to webmasters who have similar businesses. Many of them will take you up on a free article in exchange for a backlink.

Key 5: Blog Your Writing
Even if you dont have a lot of articles out there, start a blog about your writing. People will post comments about your type of business in general and give you more ideas for future articles.

Key 6: Write It
If you tell someone you will have an article done for them, make sure you do it. Even if youre offering it for free, dont miss a deadline. Be reliable.

Lucrative Article Marketing - Announcing 6 Easy Ways to Excel with Article Marketing

Article marketing is considered the best way to generate search engine traffic to your website. And excelling in this method is relatively easy for as long as you know the following tips:

1. Produce original content. Strive to give your readers unique, fresh articles by not copying other writers' work. Communicate your ideas and your knowledge using your own words to avoid content duplication. When you provide your potential clients with unique content that cannot be found elsewhere, you will be instantly regarded as a great source of information and building your readership will come easy.

2. Your articles must be well-written. They must be free from run-on sentences, complicated paragraphs, and incoherent ideas which are all confusing to online users. Instead, your ideas must flow well and must be presented in a logical manner.

3. Your content must be relevant and useful to your target market. The information you present on your articles must be geared towards addressing your potential readers' need. They must either solve their pressing issues or improve their knowledge about their areas of interest.

4. Your titles must be attention-grabbing. This is the element you would like to focus on if you would like to improve your clickthrough rate. Make your headlines enticing by making them direct to the point, keyword-rich, and truly compelling.

5. Your topics should be related to your products and services. If you are offering signature bags, articles about shoes and mobile phones will not help you drive targeted traffic to your website. Make sure that your topics are relevant to your offerings so you can easily pitch in your products on your resource box.

6. Be direct to the point. As you are serving audience with little time to spare, it pays to make your articles concise, short and direct to the point.

Article Marketing - The Hidden Secret To Building Responsive Opt in Lists

Building a responsive email list can be very challenging. I remember when I first started in internet marketing I was able to build a list, but really struggled to monetize it. I think that this is a common problem for many people that start out marketing on the internet.

As the famous sales trainer Jeoffrey Gitomer once said that people only buy from people that they like, know and trust. Getting a subscriber to subscribe to your newsletter is only half the battle won. For them to buy from you need to demonstrate that you are an expert in your niche market and also get them to trust you.

This is where article marketing has a very big advantage over the other methods of internet marketing. Leads generated from this source are usually up to ten times more responsive than leads from other sources. The main reason for this is probably that the person reading your article would have read many of them. They only would have subscribed to your list because they like, know and trust you. Leads from other sources like email newsletters, PPC, banner advertising and search engine optimization will have a much lower rate of conversion because you need to first build trust with your subscribers.

Let us look at the process of how you would build a responsive list from article marketing. In your bio you will have a link to your website. When someone clicks on the link in your bio you will send them to a squeeze page. The squeeze page will capture your visitor's name and email address.

You can also send your new subscriber a seven day email course of value. This will significantly increase the responsiveness as you will build more trust and credibility doing this before selling to your prospect.

Article Marketing - How to Track Your Success

Writing articles and submitting them to article directories, and ezine publishers takes a great deal of investment therefore you need to track them to determine their effectiveness.

Methods to track the success of your article marketing

Article directories

Most article directories (ie EzineArticles) display the number of visitors your article received. If you've written many articles you can quickly see which ones received the most visitors and/or comments.

Google

Enter your article title (with quotes) in the Google search box with quotes surrounding it. This shows all places your article appears on the Net. Before writing your content enter the title in Google first to make sure you are not duplicating someone else's article otherwise you will see their articles listed among yours.

Backlinks

Your resource box contains the URL to your web site. When your article gets distributed to other sites you receive incoming links from them. If you enter: Enter site:www.domain.com in Yahoo, it will display all the incoming links you have gained from other sites.

Site Statistics

Your web hosting service includes statistics for your web site. The stats reveal where your traffic is coming from. It displays the number of hits, visitors, external links, referrers (urls of people visiting your site) keywords and keyword phrases entered in the search engines. After submitting several articles for distribution, monitor your statistics. New keyword phrases that appear in your statistics can be used to produce new articles.

Tracking URLs

I've left this method last because I don't highly recommend it but it gives very detailed stats if you use an adtracker i.e., adtrackz. Set up a tracking URL in your ad tracking software that monitors the number of hits your article receives. There is only one problem with this method..if you stop tracking the article your visitor will receive a broken link when they click the URL in your resource box. Search engines do not spider broken links.

By investing a some time tracking your articles, you determine what sites are not producing results. Submit articles consistently to distribution sites to keep receiving traffic. Overtime you will see a steady increase in visitors.

Article Submission

Submitting articles to article directories is fast becoming one of the most popular and effective ways to market your website online, and for many reasons. By writing articles about specific topics that relate to your website you are establishing yourself as an expert in the field. You will also have the opportunity to add a link to your website in the author or resource box, driving traffic to your site. Another key advantage is that websites looking for content will have the opportunity to place your article, with the link to your website, on their site. These links will stay on their website for years. Over time this creates a large number of links to your site, increasing your page rank and visibility in search engines.

Forum Participation

Regularly participating in forums can also establish you as an expert in your field. By participating in forums that are related to your website, you gain the trust of the other forums users. Trust in you and your website will result in more traffic and sales. When participating in forums be sure to add a link to your website in your signature file. This will let readers know where your website is located, and also create more links on the internet to your site.

Create Your Own Blog

Another effective way of building trust and becoming an authority on your websites topic is to launch your own blog. Blogs are also frequently picked up by search engines since the content on them is usually fresh and up to date giving you exposure to your target market. Also, by publishing your articles on your blog will also create more links back to your website, increasing the page rank of your website as well.

Linking Campaign

By creating a linking campaign, you can dramatically increase the number of links on the internet that direct users to your site. As demonstrated in the above strategies, the more links that point back to site, the higher your page rank, and the higher listing in search engines resulting in more targeted traffic. Linking is easy, yet can be time consuming. For sites that offer links simply use your favorite search engine, and use keywords such as add your link. You will see that millions of sites are available to add your link to.

Using The Power Of Craigslist To Explode Your Conventional Or Online Business

Are you looking for a quality, free source of advertising to explode your online or conventional business? Look no further than Craigslist . This advertising medium was started in 1995 by Craig Newmark. The business has grown and now employs 24 people.

Most of the advertising is free, except for job ads that are paid for in selected cities in the US. The classified ads placed on this nearly free medium range from goods and services, to forums, community announcements, and even personal ads.

The Craigslist website isn't flashy, but it sure does work for the people advertising there. The one thing you need to know about Craigslist.org is that they have software in place to keep you from over posting your ad. There are hundreds of clever marketers who have beat the system and post hundreds or maybe more ads per day. From information that I have read, your ad can just disappear from its classification unless you use stealth techniques.

One stealth technique that the mass marketers use is to get some "Hide my IP" software. You see, each computer has its' own unique IP and Craigslist software uses this to track your computers IP address for over posting. There is however, "hide my IP" software available for a reasonable price on the internet to do the job. Good "hide my IP" software can be programmed to change at intervals that you choose.

Another thing that the Craigslist software does is monitor your email address when posting. Post over 2 to 3 ads from the same address and your ad may not appear. The Craigslist advertisers in the know, will get up to 100 free email addresses from Gmail.com, then rotate these addresses when posting. After using the email addresses for a week or two, they cancel their email accounts and get different ones.

I hope that you visit Craigslist.org to find out what it is all about. I know you will be very surprised to find that a free advertising medium like this exists.

Marketing 101

Marketing can be a mysterious and elusive concept for a lot of entrepreneurs. It easily gets confused with sales and often has resistance associated with it because of that. People often are not sure what they need to do to effectively market their business.

Marketing is the process of deciding what you will sell, to whom and what the product or service will look like. It is about getting clear on the benefits, features, and value the client receives and matching that with what the market wants. Advertising, promoting and selling your product or service are all part of marketing but not marketing as a whole. Another important piece of marketing is building relationships.

In order to be able to market your business you need to know and be able to share what it is that you offer. You need to be able to describe what it is, what it does, how it works, what's included in the service, what happens when a client uses it, what the benefits are, and what the value is they receive. Get really clear in all these areas and be able to articulate them in your sleep.

As mentioned above advertising and promoting your business are part of the marketing process. There are several ways you can promote and advertise your business...

Your business card. Always carry them and make them readily available to potential clients in a variety of locations. Ask other businesses your potential clients may use if you can leave some at their location. At networking events bring a stand to display them.

A brochure. You can pack quite a bit of information into a brochure just don't overdue it! Make sure you leave some white space and it doesn't look like a novel to read. Bring these to networking events, trade shows, conferences, workshops etc.

A flyer. One page that says it all very succinctly. Once again make sure there is white space along with a hook or attention getter right at the top, something that will pull them in to find out more.

Your web site. Make sure your web site address is on all your marketing materials and that all the pages are working properly. Make it interactive or give something away. Speak directly to your potential clients.

There are many other ways to market your business so be creative (pens, mouse pads, note pads, magnets etc). Make sure that you are always branding your company identity and that your target market will connect with the information.

Marketing your business is where building relationships and providing value are so important. You can do all the advertising and promoting you like but when it comes right down to it your relationships and the value they provide will be what will make the sale. In order to build any relationship you need to find out who the person is, what they are facing, what are the challenges, what is missing, what they need most right now, and what they value. You can then offer support and/or solutions that fit the client and begin building trust and the relationship. Making it about the client makes you very attractive to them and they can see the value of the relationship.

Offer complimentary sessions or discount services for people to be able to try your services. There is no better way to demonstrate value. Ask potential clients what would be of value to them.

Remember that any marketing initiative should be measurable. In order to determine what is and is not working for your business find out how people heard about you. Keep track of web site statistics, business cards, brochures or flyers given out at an event. The only way you will know is by finding out.

Inbound Link Mania - 10 Key Content Strategies to Increase Online Visibility

Now more than ever, if you want to be a successful business owner, you need a successful business website. Which means you have to make nice with the search engines. And the long-standing rule of search engine friendliness is to create inbound links -- links from other sites pointing to your site.

Ten-ish years ago, when Google started the shift away from code to content (including inbound links) as the preferred way of determining "relevance," the world changed. Immediately, businesses owners started scrambling, and begging, for every link they could get. Thank goodness that's not the case anymore! But inbound links are still important. In many ways they're more vital than ever.

How then, does one go about getting those precious nuggets of hypertext anchor tagging? Social Media maven and "Chief Nut" Kevin Skarritt, our good friend and strategic ally at Acorn Creative, offered up these 10 strategies on his "Nuts and Bolts of Brand" blog. Good guy that he is, he gave us permission to share those key linking strategies with you here. Hit it!

1. BLOG COMMENTS

Go out of your way to read other people's blogs. Your Mother always told you that reading is good for you. She was right! But, when you do so, be sure to productively interact with those bloggers. It makes them feel good. It validates what they're writing about. It starts up a relationship between the two of you. AND, here's the best part, it gives you an inbound link to your site.

2. BLOG TRACKBACKS

Start your own blog and refer to all of those blogs you're reading in the form of a "trackback" in your posts. Don't know what this means? Check out the entry for "trackback" on Wikipedia, or go deeper with a Wordpress.org tutorial. However you learn more about this linking strategy, please do, because it's a smart, easy, and effective way to get your website lots of inbound links.

3. PAY PER CLICK ADVERTISING

Yes, PPC advertising is indeed an added marketing expense. However, it's a controllable, predictable means to build ROI, and a great way to build inbound links where you have control over the text used in the link tag.

4. PARTICIPATE ON INDUSTRY FORUMS

Similar to blog comments and trackbacks, participating on industry forums will get you hooked up with other like-minded professionals, keep you abreast of current trends, and you get to build your own inbound links in the signature line of your posts.

5. BUILD OTHER PAGES

Some new social networking sites on the web allow you to create content and post it in their domain as new pages. One great example of this is Seth Godin's Squidoo.com. By creating "lenses" that focus readers on a particular topic of interest, you get to engage readers and create more inbound links to your main site.

6. WIKIS

The concept of a wiki (like wikipedia.org) is that readers also become content contributors. Anyone who is registered can log in and change content. Understand that other readers of this information-rich content have zero tolerance for salesy/advertising tactics, so, be careful with this one. Be purely informative and helpful with your newly posted content. If the content survives peer scrutiny, you'll have a nice little inbound link that's potentially seen by millions.

7. SOCIAL NETWORKING

MySpace and FaceBook for sure, but there's an explosion of social networking web sites out there. Dive in and start participating. Doing so allows you to interact with other professionals and, you guessed it, builds up inbound links.

8. SOCIAL BOOKMARKING

Different than social networking, social bookmarking is similar to how you used to bookmark sites in your browser but, instead, you bookmark your favorite sites publicly, in sites like de.licio.us, ma.gnolia.com, spurl.com, rojo.com, Google bookmarks ... the list goes on and on. The goal is to have people discover these bookmarks, and then your site. An added benefit to social bookmarking (and blog posts) is you get to "tag" your content with words and phrases that are relevant to the content. These tags are used to identify the content in the search process.

9. ORGANIZED SURFING SITES

This is a variation of social bookmarking. There are sites that organize how people surf the web in an effort to make the process of finding the right content faster and more focused. StumbleUpon.com (available as a Firefox plugin) is one of my favorites but others like Technorati (blog content), Digg (blogs, articles and news stories) and newcomer Trailfire (another Firefox plugin) allow users to power-surf, finding your site via inbound links.

10. LINK BEGGING

Don't discount it just yet. Asking another site owner for a link sometimes still works. However, with all of the other options listed above, you'll quickly learn that this tactic is largely time-consuming and unproductive.

Any good car salesman will recite the old adage, "plan your work and work your plan." This especially holds true for your inbound link strategy. Whether you focus on one or set up a tactic to diversify, divide and conquer, don't wait. The success of your website -- and ultimately, your business -- depends on it!

How To Use Article Marketing To Build Your Internet Business

A powerful tool to build your small business whether it be an

online business or an offline business is through article

marketing. In this article, I will provide you with several steps

that will help you reach your potential customers.

The first step in writing an article is picking a specific topic

about your business that would have interest to your customers.

For example, if you paint houses, a good topics for an article is

"choosing the right colors for your home" or "the best way to

find a reputable home painter". Here's another example related

to a unique service I saw advertised on the window of a car

driving next to me. The service was organizing a slumber party.

It made me curious and I really wanted to know more about it.

The owner might write an article about the pitfalls of having a

slumber party or the key steps to organizing a fun-filled slumber

party.

The idea here is to write something useful but not overwhelm the

reader with too much information.

Once you have written your article, you complete it with a call

to action. This is your opportunity to give the reader a chance

to start a relationship with you. A call to action will include

one or two links to your web page. The link you provide should

take the reader to either a free report or something that you

think they will find useful. It should also have similar content

to what your original article was about.

Once you have the reader follow through with a call to action

hopefully you will have captured their information and you able

you are able start relationship with them. The type of

information you provide and capture will vary between businesses.

The painter might want to capture a phone number and reach out to

the person so he can provide more information and answer

questions. The slumber party organizer may have the reader sign

up to a seven-day eCourse explaining the process for organizing a

great and safe slumber party.

In closing, article marketing can be an extremely effective ways

to build a small business. Give it a try today!

Strategies For Search Engine Optimization

A web site does not stop with ownership. Work has to be done such as getting it optimized for search engines. Your web site has to be made search engine friendly, that is to say, it must meet certain expectations of the "crawlers" or "spiders" of search engines. The index that these crawlers have created will be used in ascertaining the status of your web site in terms of relevancy to the requests of users.

Good strategies for search engine optimization that should be fully implemented include the following:

(1) Credible domain name

Acquire a domain name that is not too long or difficult to remember. It should relate to the content of your web site. Within the domain name, there should preferably be keywords that a crawler will understand. Abbreviations, dashes, underscores, numerals and other meaningless characters should all be avoided. Always opt for a .com name if possible, simply because it is a more common term that customers think of.

(2) Titles should be rich in keywords

The titles for all of your pages should be keyword-rich. They should be easily understood by visitors, and more importantly should contain keywords that will relate to whatever your customers may want to search for. In search engine optimization, search engines often use the [TITLE]; element as the text for their link to your site. Emphasis is placed by search engines in this area of optimization because it enables them to determine the relevance of your page to a visitor's search. The titles for your pages should preferably be less than 50 characters including spaces. This enables you to select a title that is precise, and one that will not be truncated in search results for reason of length. For immediate impact, include your call to action, so that attention of visitors can be captured.

(3) Include META elements

Description and keyword properties should be included in your headers' META elements. META name="description" content="[brief description of your site]" is often used by search engines to find out what your site is all about. It will be beneficial to put yourself in the shoes of your customers. You can think about how they will go about searching for information, and you can subsequently choose appropriate terms that will capture traffic to your site. A great research tool to use is Wordtracker.

(4) Quality of content

It is imperative to provide good and rich content on your web site. The content should always be keyword-rich, as this facilitates good classification of your pages by the search engines. It must be interesting and entertaining. Quality is the keyword as far as content is concerned. This is one strategy for search engine optimization that should be given heavy consideration. Content should therefore be fresh and should never be a duplicate. Search engines now include in their search algorithm ways to effect measurement of freshness of content on all sites. Do note that spiders cannot read images, so remember to use ALT tags for images if you need to use them to increase your site traffic.

(5) Links leveraging

Web sites that get incoming links do get a higher ranking. If these incoming links originate from a site with higher ranking and which perform well for key phrases that are related to your content, these are good links of quality that will push up the ranking of your site. They will greatly benefit your site. It will be to your advantage to request them to link back to your site. Everything on your site must be properly linked; all links must be functioning, because this will enable all of your content to be indexed. This shows a good strategy for search engine optimization in operation.

(6) Site registration

Your site must be registered with major search engines such as Google, Yahoo!, and Open Directory Project (DMOZ.org) once it is sufficiently optimized. Instructions given by each search engine are different from one another, so it is important to follow instructions closely, to avoid having your site improperly indexed. For best results, do it right - straight from the beginning.

(7) Play it smart

Ensure that your site can be easily indexed by search engines. Your pages must be crawler-friendly. Avoid the application of spamming strategies such as irrelevant metadata and hidden text. Better be safe than sorry. Play it smart when you are in your zest aiming for higher search-engine rankings. Avoid strategies that offer the easy way out for getting good ranking.

(8) Virtue of patience

Patience pays. It may take some time to reach Google No 1 spot. The time spent on search engine optimization for your web site will definitely not be lost just because the top spot is not reached yet. There are still numerous other ways of capturing traffic besides performing a little more tweaking of your site.

In conclusion, your web site must be optimized for search engines, as this will help you secure a better search result, better site ranking, and not forgetting increase in site traffic. For your desired results, you will need to apply the strategies for search engine optimization listed above.

Stop Committing These 10 Common Viral Marketing Mistakes

Unsuspecting computer users consider themselves to be doing favors for their friends with whom they are sending these referrals, but they are not the only ones jubilant with their discovery. They do not exactly feel it, but they are part and parcel of the mechanism which makes viral marketing promote and increase website visits like luscious pancakes.

Viral marketing is currently being used by most online business people because it works. Who would pass up the opportunity to have a website endorsed exponentially by all its users and viewers? However, not all viral marketing ploys work. Before you concoct your own viral marketing portal, here are a few basic things you need to avoid.

1. General Unhappy Perspective-- One cannot do viral marketing without having a good dose of confidence that it will actually WORK. Even if you don't communicate that directly to your marketing ploys, a disbelief for whatever you have set out to do has already started to sabotage your attempts.

2. Not-So-Viral Marketing-- You need to be very competent or at par with other websites in viral marketing. Study other existing excellent viral marketers online and see what makes them secure the top spot. Timing is essential. Your viral marketing can backfire if you do it without researching first on your target groups and executing your moves in an unproper time. Conditioning is just as essential as the actual marketing itself.

3. The WIIFM (What's in it for Me) Factor is Missing-- Most people are encouraged to refer to friends only if they have something to get out of it. Some viral marketers forget this very important thing. Giving out rewards or incentives can boost or motivate every visitor to pull more people in. Watch out for the extremes of giving too many rewards, though. It must boost and not take the limelight off the main concept.

4. Marketing without Asking-- Some websites employing viral marketing techniques forget to let the customers interact. Javascripts are useful tools.

5. Giving up the first time-- Some users tend to get irritated the first time they receive recommendations from friends. People behind viral marketing fail to anticipate this and end up giving up on what could have been a most promising buyer.

6. Too Many Details--This is a common and often commited mistake! No one would want to hang around that long just for one offer. There are other websites which would be less concise and yet drive the point home with pizzazz that yields a lasting impression. Time is not just gold in viral marketing. It is everything. The fact that a person is surfing the Internet for information already communicates that he or she is already trying to save time by retrieving information in the fastest possible way. If websites offer good products but takes forever to load or for one reader to get to the bottom of the page, it still would not be worth his time or looking effort, for that matter.

7. Hoops and Hurdles in Transactions-- Related to the mistake above is the transaction hurdle itself. Given that you have already convinced or gotten a buying signal from a customer, if the whole process is tedious and hard to follow, it will most likely dropped by the customer. No one would want to buy or refer something which is too intricate or complicated.

8. Lack of Uniqueness and Follow-up-- Viral marketing needs to be continuous and not just a one-time big-time shot, and it must not merely duplicate what is already available with other competitors. There must be something unique about the offer, and at the same time, you must have a line of products prepared after the first purchase, in order to experience the long-range effects of viral marketing.

9. Forgettable By Clicks-- Some viral marketing websites do not make use of javascripts. A user or viewer may easily be distracted by other links within the page and click it in the middle of his or her evaluation of your offer. It may be an affiliate website or an outside link, but it totally diverts the attention off your product and may lead him away from your page.

10. Lack of Assurance in Privacy-- Privacy concerns are also important for every person who wants to take part in the process of viral marketing. Asking for referrals without making any assurance that the personal information to be given will be kept confidential and not forwarded to other websites makes a person think twice before typing up those email addresses.

After learning the abovementioned viral marketing boo-boos it will be definitely easier to work out your viral marketing campaigns.

Article Writing Guidelines - 3 Tips to Writing Better Articles

Are you trying to make money online with article writing? Articles are very easy to write, as long as you know the article writing guidelines that are necessary to write a good and targeted article. Read on to find out how to write the perfect article for your website.

The first guideline to article writing is knowing how to format your article. You need to keep your article between 300 and 500 words with about 100 to 125 words per paragraph. You want to start out with an introduction paragraph that lets the reader know what you are going to tell them in the article. Then, you need 3 to 4 paragraphs where you will be telling your audience what you promised in the introduction. The last paragraph should wrap things up and restate the points that you already made.

The second guideline is to choose a topic that you are passionate about. The great thing about article writing is that it is free and you will be able to teach others what you already know. Pick a subject that you like and know about and start writing. If your passion is golf, then write about all the aspect of golf. You get the picture.

The last article writing guideline is to get started writing. One of the biggest mistakes that article marketers make is that they write one or two articles and they think that is going to be enough to get them a ton of traffic. This is the worst thing you can do. You need to write a few articles each day or each week and expect a little bit of traffic each week from each article. Article marketing is about numbers and you need to have a lot of articles out there creating you a little bit of traffic each.

If you follow these article writing guidelines you will become a better writer and a better article marketer. These guidelines are designed to set you up for success, so if you are ready to get started, then choose a subject that you are passionate about, follow the outline above to set up your article, and start writing. Remember the more you write the easier it gets and the more traffic you will generate.

Want to write more articles faster than ever? Produce a new article of your own every 10 minutes. Get more information here: http://www.FREE-OFFER-SITES.info/articlesqueeze.html
